Ama Dablam Daily Report: Thursday 30th October

Ama Dablam Camp I (5400 m)

The team has now divided into two groups - the first group of 3 climbers will move up to Camps II and III in a summit bid, and a further group of 6 will remain either at Camp I or move back to Base Camp tomorrow whilst awaiting confirmation about the state of the ice fields around the summit area. It is generally thought that the ice fields are, in fact, not stable enough for a safe and successful summit bid. René will move down to Base Camp tomorrow and thereafter assess his options.
