The Shanker Hotel, Kathmandu

Kathmandu (1355 m)
Rene arrived in Kathmandu this morning and settled in to
the Shanker Hotel. Steve Moffat, the team leader did a thorough
equipment check with him. Only a new pair of gaiters and a small foam
mattress had to be purchased. Temperatures in Kathmandu were in the region of 29°C.
Good weather was predicted for the trip and it was hoped that not too much
snow would fall during the following weeks. A meeting of the entire team was held in the early
evening where the group had an opportunity to
become acquainted with each other.
