Kathmandu (1355 m)
René spent much of today packing and
re-packing his two duffle bags - one to go directly to Base Camp and the
other to accompany him on his trek up to Base Camp from Lukla Airport.
He spent some time walking around the shops in Kathmandu, taking pictures
of fossils for his MSc (The Geology of Everest) and relaxing. He
also purchased a pair of removable down trousers which his team
leader had recommended for "summit night". Tomorrow an early start
was planned with the group flying from Kathmandu to Lukla Airport.
After landing, they would begin their 1st day's trek up to Base Camp. |
