Ama Dablam Base Camp (4650 m)
The team climbed to Advanced Base Camp
(5424 m), also known as "Yak Camp", today in 4 hours and returned to Base
Camp in 1 hour 40 minutes. René rested for most of the afternoon and
reported that this had been the "hardest day yet". He was definitely
feeling the effects of the altitude. The Puja ceremony, where the
climbers are blessed, will take place tomorrow before the really serious
climbing begins.
