Lukla (2866 m)
René and 3 other AC team members arrived
in Lukla this afternoon after a long and tiring walk from Namche Bazaar.
The trip took almost 7 hours. Along the way, they enjoyed a plentiful
pasta meal at Phakding. René arrived at Lukla with his pockets laden with
rock samples for his MSc thesis. The group had hoped to catch a plane to
Kathmandu today. However, they are booked to fly out of Lukla tomorrow
morning and will stay at the Paradise Lodge tonight.
News from the mountain is that the 3 AC
summiteers arrived safely back in Camp II earlier today and were hoping to
make it all the way back to Base Camp later this evening.
